Caller ID not set, outbound calls show as unknown
Outbound calls connect but the recipient's phone shows 'Unknown' or a generic number.
Symptoms
- •Contact rate drops suddenly
- •Called parties complain they can't see who's calling
- •Asterisk outbound SIP trace shows no P-Asserted-Identity header
Common causes
- •Campaign's `custom_cid` setting not configured
- •CID group empty or misconfigured
- •Carrier strips CID due to attestation level (STIR/SHAKEN A vs C)
- •SIP trunk doesn't allow self-asserted CID
How to fix it
- 1Set campaign's outbound_cid field to a valid provisioned DID
- 2Enable use_custom_cid = Y for CID rotation
- 3Check vicidial_campaign_cid_areacodes for the campaign
- 4Work with carrier to ensure A-level STIR attestation on owned DIDs
