Caller ID(CID)
The phone number shown on the recipient's phone when an outbound call arrives, set at the carrier or dialer layer.
What it means in practice
Caller ID is the number the called party sees. Different from ANI (the network-carried originating number) because carriers allow CID overrides within ANI ownership rules. VICIdial lets you set CID per campaign, per agent, or per lead, including rotating CIDs from a pool. Managing CID reputation is central to outbound contact rate because spam-flagged CIDs get auto-screened or labeled as 'Spam Likely'.
In VICIPanel
VICIPanel ships a DID inventory view that shows each CID's usage volume, spam-flag status, STIR/SHAKEN attestation level, and days in rotation, so you can see which numbers are burning out before contact rate crashes.
